Stop the War will be protesting at the annual Garter Day procession in Windsor where Tony Blair will be honoured by the Queen

Press Release: Stop the War To Protest at Blair’s Knighthood Ceremony Next Monday

Issued: 6 June 2022

For immediate release

Next Monday (13 June), Stop the War will be protesting at the annual Garter Day procession in Windsor where Tony Blair will be honoured by the Queen as a Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter.

Blair has blood on his hands and is personally responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians and service men and women in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Over 1.2 million people have signed an online petition demanding the honour be rescinded. Stop the War is calling for as many people as possible to join us and show solidarity with the millions whose lives were destroyed as a result of Blair’s illegal wars.

Stop the War Vice Chair, Chris Nineham, said:

“The rehabilitation of Tony Blair since the Iraq war is a scandal. He is widely recognised as a war criminal.

Our protest will be representing the millions of people who believe the only court Tony Blair should be going near is the Hague.”
