It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen John, who died on Sunday. Helen was one of the original Greenham Common women, and remained a peace campaigner all her life. She spoke at the inaugural meeting of the Stop the War Coalition in 2001 and was present on many protests and demonstrations. She spent a number of her last years campaigning outside the Menwith Hill US military base in Yorkshire. She was a strong, independent and courageous woman who will be sadly missed. Stop the War Coalition sends condolences to her family and friends.
