Prof Paul Rogers joined us to discuss the effects of the devastating war in Ukraine
“A violent stalemate has persisted for months, sometimes with Russia appearing in the ascendant but more recently Ukraine edging ahead. Neither can win and neither can lose. NATO will ensure that Ukraine is sufficiently well-armed to resist sudden Russian advances, but if Russia faces defeat it can threaten nuclear escalation.”
Prof Paul Rogers joined us to discuss the effects of the devastating war in Ukraine on the country itself, the geopolitical landscape and the world economy.
Paul is Emeritus Professor of Peace Studies in the Department of Peace Studies and International Relations at Bradford University and openDemocracy’s international security correspondent.
